This September, Catherine Lawlor’s School of Art will be hosting an exhibition in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). This exclusive event is due to take place at the Malahide Tennis Club Saturday 12th from 11am – 6pm on and concludes on Sunday 13th September from 11.30 – 6pm.
Every year this prestigious Art School picks a charity to support and this year, two students, who had personally experienced a sudden death in their family, nominated CRY as charity of choice. The exhibition will offer art lovers a chance to purchase a piece of the students work. This unique display by the students will include watercolour paintings of the local scenery, abstract oil canvases along with contemporary pastels painting. All money raised at the showcase will go directly to CRY and to the CRYP Centre. The centre aims to screen a minimum of 1,600 young patients annually free of charge. It is the only one in the country to offer a full-time service dedicated to evaluation of inherited heart disease and cardiac disease in younger persons. The Centre, which officially opened last November, receives virtually no subsidies from the government. It is solely financed by fundraising activities and generous donations that are all of which essential to keep the centre running.
CRY are inviting all to come along and enjoy an arty afternoon while supporting a worthy cause. See you there!
